Gold & Pink Sanibel Harbour Marriott Wedding
Jeff and Laurie had their destination wedding at the Sanibel Harbour Marriott Resort in Fort Myers, Florida. We started off with getting ready of both the bride and groom as well as the signing of the Ketubah (Jewish prenuptial agreement). The ceremony was held in the island room at the Sanibel Marriott, overlooking a quite scenic view of the water. Bea and I had a blast at the reception as DJ Ron Rutz played the perfect music to get everyone on the dance floor and keep them there the entire evening. When it was time for the Horah dance, everyone was on the dance floor and we got some amazing candids of this age old tradition!
We are very blessed to have been chosen to document Jeff and Laurie’s wedding day and I wish them the best in their continued journey together as husband and wife.
Interview with the Bride:
Maria: Why did you choose Sanibel Harbour Resort as your venue?
Laurie: The Sanibel Marriott offered indoor spaces that were beautiful, large enough for our needs and had huge windows so we could see and enjoy the stunning water views without putting our high heels in the sand. Since we live in Florida we are familiar with the weather… for our formal wedding we didn’t want to risk the heat, the rain, the bugs or my hair! In addition, about half of our guests would be arriving from out of town and having accommodations for them at the ceremony/reception site was a great option.
Maria: What was your favorite moment from your wedding day?
Laurie: Picking one is difficult… I am going to cheat and pick three. The private time I had with my daughter (and maid of honor) about 15 minutes before the ceremony. Looking into my son’s eyes as I took his arm so he could walk me down the aisle. The literally overwhelming rush of love and happiness that hit me as the doors opened to the ceremony and everyone turned to face me and Jeff was front and center!
Maria: What was the biggest obstacle you faced while planning your wedding or on the wedding day?
Laurie: Although we didn’t officially plan a destination wedding because the venue was over an hour and twenty minutes from home it felt like we did…. The distance made selecting vendors harder, some meetings had to be phone consults or done via email. We just went with our gut with a lot of vendors and fortunately for us everyone delivered above and beyond our expectations.
